An end to the expressing era

Postby annie'smummy » Mon Mar 08, 2010 8:31 pm

Hi there all
I am just about to express milk for the final time. After a year of doing it I am pleased it is ending. Its not been easy but I have done what I really wanted to acheive, I think that's what's important with expressing that you do what's right for you and your family. Off to celebrate now with a take away

Well done you did so well! bet you'll be glad for the freedom! not sure when you posted and when the last time you expressed was but make sure you got some pads handy! I did leak for at least a month after just in the mornings when i got up and it was only tiny but did surprise me everytime! xx

Really happy for you Rachel that you've been able to make a decision that you feel comfortable with, but on the subject of being comfortable, I hope this is the end of a long gradual stopping of expressing. I tried to stop very suddenly at a point when I was expressing over a litre a day (long story rubbish health visitor) and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as it hurt like hell!!!!

You have done sooooooooo well for managing for so long. Well done! Please give yourself a big pat on the back and feel proud. I hope that you had a good takeaway to celebrate and have packed away the machine with a smile on your face :D
